"A Spanish Man's Poignant Perspective of His Country"

I am very pleased to include images from the man responsible for my passionate love affair with photography “David Fuentes Lopez” Soon after I met him he showed me some of the photographs he has kindly allowed me to use in the “Black & White” category. He told me he had turned to photography during a difficult period of his life. Perhaps it wasn’t just the use of monochrome, integral to the drama that gives them an innate sensitivity I found so inspiring.

I already had a sense of the importance of recording a moment in time. The simplicity of the act of clicking the camera shutter belie it’s influential effect. But David’s photos made me see how artistic, informative and inspiring this medium can be.
